A Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C) is a group of community minded people, parents and citizens, who take on a more formal role to assist the school by:

  • providing feedback on school policies and activities
  • fundraising to provide additional resources used to enhance student learning providing parents with the opportunity to be involved in their child’s education.

The P&C Association works with the principal and the school community in a productive partnership to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students. The Association functions to assist the school by:

  • fostering community interest in educational matters
  • encouraging cooperation between the parents of students attending the school, other members of the community, staff and students of the school
  • providing advice and recommendations to the principal of the school on issues and concerns in respect of students and the general operation and management of the school
  • providing or assisting in the provision of financial or other resources or services for the benefit of students of the school
  • performing any other functions, not inconsistent with the Act, as the Minister may decide.

Bluewater State School’s P&C Association are responsible for numerous fundraising events throughout the year, including the Country Fair, with money raised being used to fund the supplemented learning programs, the extra resources available for the children in the classroom, in the library and in the playground and the extra facilities and improvements throughout our school.

The school tuckshop is run by our P&C Association. A convenor is employed by the P&C, however volunteers also play an important role in the provision of this service. 

All parents and citizens of Bluewater community are welcome to join the Bluewater State School P&C Association.

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month (except for school/public holidays) at 6.30 pm in the school resource centre (library).
